Unibet launches personalised bet suggestion tool
Bet recommendation widget forms part of the firm's new HTML5 sportsbook and big data push
Unibet has unveiled an in-house built bet recommendation widget as the operator begins to utilise its new big data platform as part of its ongoing sportsbook overhaul.
The new product, which was debuted in Sweden last month, provides customers with three personalised bet suggestions based on their favourite sporting team and past betting activity for football, tennis and ice hockey.
The widget is supported by Unibet’s new in-house built big data platform, with plans to expand the product into additional sports, markets and bet types at a later date.
“This is the front-end delivery of a project that internally is something we’ve been working on for a long-time,” Erik B?cklund, Unibet head of sportsbook, told eGaming Review.
“We’ve set up a framework where we think we are in a very good place to deliver a very relevant and personalised user experience, not just for the sportsbook customers but also for other areas as well,” he added.
The bet suggestion widget went live on the firm’s Sweden-facing site on a trial basis in late April and will be rolled out into new markets before the start of the European Championships next month.
The launch coincides with a major overhaul of Unibet’s sportsbook, including the recent launch of a HTML5 client in the UK, which had been in beta mode for several months.
The operator has been busy on the product front in recent weeks having also released a new in-play pooled quiz competition, BetUp, and a Siri-like voice activated bet placement feature on the Unibet Sports Betting app in partnership with Artificial Solutions.
