The Smoking Gun: What Yu Talking About Willis; The Ultimate Put-Down; AlvinCare.com
The musings of Eddie Yu, Joe Sebok bears the brunt of Ultimate Bet criticism, and Gav Grimes becomes Alvin Care for the week.
What Yu Talking About Willis?
The western world has had its fair share of brilliant speakers. Abraham Lincoln; Martin Luther King; Ray Winstone. But here at TSG we have been captivated by an incomparable mind from within the realm of egaming: Casinoman founder Eddie Yu.
The affiliate, life coach and fashion photographer, who claims on his LinkedIn page to be “Creating a world without offices,” (we think he means Narnia) has been enlightening us on a daily basis with his observations on life, the universe and everything. Here are some of his finest moments to date:
- “Hey, what are you guys doing right now to make a difference?”
- “What is your biggest elephant in the room?”
- “Just like the saying that ‘everyone has a book in them’, I believe that everyone has something they can sell online.”
- “#royalwedding in a parallel universe, Will might be marrying a Chinese, or African, or Indian, how do you think that would affect the world?”
- “Intellectual property is the number one product you have in your stables that will be the life blood of your business.”
- And the coup de grace: “The big giant bureaucracy lion can also be tamed by giving people the autonomy that is experienced by virtual working.”
Inspirational.
The Ultimate Put-Down
The response to Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker terminating the contracts of all their professional players has received a mixed reception at best. One poster on the Two Plus Two poker forums came out with the blunt “Well that’s gotta be a first in history: Sinking ship leaves rat.”
A Twitter user, going by the name @DougLeePoker, was more creative. He encouraged people to follow former Ultimate Bet pros Joe Sebok and Prahlad Friedman, along with Judas, Joseph Stalin, OJ Simpson and Osama bin Laden. Illustrious company indeed, no wonder some are already calling Sebok the Nick Clegg of egaming.
Would the @RealSteveCook please stand up
Our congrats go to all our B2B award winners but a special mention must go to Bet Tracker’s silver fox Steve Cook who ran up to the stage, arms aloft, to pick up the prize for innovation in sports betting software from host Richard ‘Smash It’ Keys. But was it really him? Surfing Twitter we discovered an imposter must either have claimed Steve’s name on the social networking site or he must be so famous that he had to use @RealSteveCook as his handle. Next time perhaps we should ask for his autograph.

Life’s pretty tough when you are a serial entrepreneur and billionaire owner of one of the world’s biggest brands. I didn’t do it all of my own though. I reckon my lackeys could be worth up to 3% of the total effort in making me the billionaire I am today. Mostly kicking back these days but happy to share my wisdom with you and let you bask in my reflected glory and musings on the gaming industry. Spent last night jamming two Hawaiian tropic models on the promise of a lucrative modelling contract for some company I just made up on the spot and a bottle of the good stuff. Nice! Feeling it today though, think I pulled a hammy, and with a prostate exam looming, I need to look after myself.
So Bwin and Party finally got it on like kids at the prom”¦ and we all know how that one ends. Only joking. I can see them doing well, not great. Buying your own island is doing great. There’s gonna be a lot of acquisition and collaboration going on in the next few years, Diddy and me nearly bought Spain a year or two back.
Marlin fishing with Eddie Vedder this morning followed by golf with Alice Cooper. People ask if Alice is my older brother but we’re actually the same age. That guy taught me everything I know about partying!
So, I hear Facebook has removed its restrictions on gambling and dairy content. A lot of people just lost their budgets for buying small static boxes as I can see a Facebook app frenzy developing, and someone is gonna shift a load of yoghurt.
Do you want the best job in the world? I’m advertising for a new PA. If you’re an ex-Playmate with minimal literacy and numeracy skills, gravity defying cannons and lips like Stephen Tyler then drop me a line.
If you see me, hit me up for a beer and a shot”¦ trust me, I’m good for it. Be me, and if you can’t be me, be lucky”¦ peace”¦ am out!
