Poll results: Full Tilt casino won't succeed, say readers
Latest eGR poll shows majority of readers are sceptical of Full Tilt's chances of success in casino
Full Tilt’s first casino offering is unlikely to succeed due to the highly competitive nature of the online casino market, according to 57% of respondents to eGaming Review’s latest poll.
Last week Full Tilt announced the launch of multiplayer freeplay versions of blackjack and roulette games in selected markets with additional real-money games set to follow in the future.
Full Tilt’s move into the online casino sector saw parent company the Rational Group launch its first non-poker products following the appointment of former Betfair director Sam Hobcraft to oversee the project.
“As always, we will provide the high quality player experience, integrity, security, safety and support that players have come to expect from Rational Group brands,” a spokesperson for the company said.
With this in mind, this week we asked readers whether Full Tilt will indeed find success in the casino sector with the launch of its new products.
A majority of respondents (57%) said the competition in the casino sector is currently too fierce for a new operator to carve out a significant chunk of the market for itself.
However, 23% also thought it could achieve limited success but would fail to challenge 888 whilst only 19% said Full Tilt could become one of the verticals biggest players.
In 888’s most recent financial results the Gibraltar-licensed operator recorded a 19% year-on-year rise in Q3 casino revenues from $38.2m to $45.4m during the three month period.
