PKR calls joining MPN a "defining moment"
Online poker firm to migrate to the MPN this month and enhance its focus on casino with new product launches
PKR has struck a deal with Microgaming to relaunch its poker product on the supplier’s network in what the operator called a “defining moment” for the firm.
As part of the agreement, PKR will migrate to the MPN later this month in an effort to boost liquidity, while also retaining its signature 3D poker software by utilising the supplier’s Babelfish API technology.
The online poker operator will also revamp PKR Casino and launch a new PKR Vegas product, with both brands set to utilise Microgaming’s portfolio of casino and slots games.
“The opportunity to connect our unique 3D poker software to a popular network and enjoy the best of both worlds means we can dream bigger once again,” PKR chief exec, Chris Welch, said.
“With our software and community allied to Microgaming’s advanced products, poker liquidity and proven track record, this is the perfect match,” Welch added.
The deal marks the next chapter in an effort to change the fortunes of PKR which, under the leadership of Welch, has been busy creating a new management team and developing a new company strategy.
PKR’s switch to MPN is also a major scoop for Microgaming which last year added SBOBET and Adjarabet to its growing list of operators on the network.
Last year the supplier launched its “revolutionary” Babelfish API technology, enabling operators to develop a customisable online poker client on the MPN network.
“We’re incredibly proud to have signed PKR on an exclusive basis for both poker and casino,” Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said.
“When we launched Babelfish in 2014 [sic] we felt it was something special; we’re now seeing the fruits of our labour with PKR able to join the growing MPN whilst retaining its unique software,” he continued.
