Nektan CEO David Gosen resigns
Gosen will leave at the end of January with executive chairman Gary Shaw to take interim control
Nektan chief executive David Gosen (pictured) has tendered his resignation and will leave the firm at the end of the month, just one year after taking up the post.
The mobile gaming supplier informed the market of Gosen’s departure this morning and said executive chairman Gary Shaw would assume the CEO responsibilities for an interim period while a permanent replacement is sought.
Nektan said Gosen has resigned in order to pursue “new opportunities” and Shaw was appreciative of the former Xbox VP’s efforts over the past 12 months.
“We would like to thank David for the progress the business has made in the last 12 months, and its continuing growth is testament to the solid building blocks the company established during his tenure,” Shaw said.
Nektan signed a number of high-profile customers in 2015, including a deal to power The Sun mobile casino, and has also made progress in the US market.
However, financial results have continued to disappoint and Nektan posted a 2015 H1 loss of ?5.1m. Meanwhile its share price has continued to contract and is down from 200p last February to 125p today.
Nektan also used today’s announcement to reveal non-exec director Jim Wilkinson will become non-executive chairman of the company.
