Ladbrokes leads in mobile product satisfaction
Ladbrokes' revamped products score best in major survey of UK players which also finds player spend set to drop at major operators
Ladbrokes revamped mobile and tablet product range has propelled the company above its biggest rivals, according to a major new UK study by eGR Insights.
As part of The Online Gaming Survey (UK) respondents rated six leading operators in several areas and Ladbrokes’ scored highest when it came to mobile and tablet product satisfaction beating William Hill into second place, while Betfair ranked lowest.
The biggest variation between the sites was in promotions and loyalty schemes. Paddy Power led the way in the promotions space as Sky Bet’s loyalty schemes scored highest.
“The results show that even the most popular sites still have work to do in certain areas,” Ben Robinson, eGaming Review director of business information, said.
“In the run up to the World Cup it looks like Ladbrokes has made a timely investment in the mobile space,” Robinson added.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said the operator was “just at the start” of its development roadmap and “will not be resting on our laurels”. “It is a highly competitive area and following a successful Grand National performance we are all now focused on the World Cup and ensuring Ladbrokes mobile gives the best customer experience,” the spokesperson said.
The research, based on 1,000 online interviews undertaken in early 2014, also found customers of the most popular sites are planning to decrease their spend in the next three months with William Hill facing a 7% drop and Sky Bet facing a 10% drop.
BetVictor and bingo site Mecca, meanwhile, are both heading for a 5% increase in customer spend.
The study by eGR Insights looks at the overall shape of the UK online gambling sector, investigates customer activity, potential increase in spend, operator comparisons and drivers of satisfaction across the main verticals: sports betting, casino, poker and bingo.
The audience was defined as those who have ever played one or a number of the following online gaming categories for money: online poker, online casino, online bingo and online sports betting.
