Jersey regulator signs MoU with Denmark
Bilateral agreement follows Playtech's licence application on the Channel Island.
The Jersey Gambling Commission has signed a bilateral cooperation agreement with its Danish counterpart, the Danish Gaming Authority (DGA).
According to the commission, the agreement aims “To achieve a common understanding and set of standards where the parties can promote co-operation in support of their legitimate interests and provide operational assistance to each other in achieving these aims.”
The news comes less than one week after Playtech became the first egaming company to apply for an online gambling licence on the largest of the Channel Islands.
Last year the DGA signed agreements with regulators in Alderney and the Isle of Man, with both coming into force when the Danish market opened earlier this month.
