GVC hires Wonga CFO as new finance boss
Paul Miles to join the gaming giant in February 2017 when current CFO Richard Cooper steps down
GVC Holdings has recruited Wonga’s Paul Miles as its new chief financial officer, replacing outgoing finance chief Richard Cooper who has decided to step down from the role.
Miles, who will take up his new role in February 2017, has been with the payday lender since 2014 and has held a number of senior finance positions in regulated industries.
His previous roles include group financial controller at insurance group RSA Group and acting group finance director of Phoenix Group.
“I’m delighted that Paul will be joining us and feel his skills and experience are an ideal match for a business of our international scale and ambition,” Lee Feldman, non-executive chairman, said.
Current CFO Cooper will leave the company in February 2017 after eight years with the firm.
During his tenure with GVC, the company acquired Sportingbet in 2013, and most recently took over bwin.party.
GVC Holdings also secured its FTSE 250 listing yesterday (19 September) after the UK Listing Authority granted the operator admission onto the Premium Segment of the London Stock Exchange.
“Richard has been a key part of the GVC story over the past eight years and I personally would like to thank him for his significant contribution and wish him all the very best for the future,” added Feldman.
