Full Tilt reopens for play-money
Operator will introduce real-money games next week.
Full Tilt Poker has begun offering play-money games as it prepares to relaunch fully next week, the operator’s poker room manager Shyam Markus has confirmed.
It marks the first time since June 2011 that players have been able to download and play on the FTP client, after PokerStars acquired the assets of the former Alderney licensee in July. Full Tilt’s homepage now makes reference to the Isle of Man egaming licence awarded to the operator earlier this month.
The new login screen (pictured) features a photo of brand ambassador Gus Hansen, and offers players the opportunity to log in, create a new account or watch a table while not logged in.
Noting that the new poker client carries additional security checks for new and returning players, Markus describes this week’s launch as “More of a beta test than anything.”
Posting in the Two Plus Two poker forums, Markus said: “Don’t be surprised if we need to issue multiple updates or even take the game down again before the 6th [of November]. We want the 6th itself (and beyond) to be as smooth as possible.” PokerStars revealed last month that the full relaunch would take place in the first week of November.
Meanwhile players with accounts on both PokerStars and Full Tilt will be able to “pair” their accounts on the two sites by following instructions in the PokerStars client, while players will be permitted to make transfers of funds between the two sites.
