Fredrik Kjell appointed Unibet's new head of gaming
Former director of product at Amaya joins Unibet to replace the recently promoted Daniel Eskola
Unibet has hired former NYX Gaming commercial manager and head of poker Fredrik Kjell as its new head of gaming, eGaming Review has learned.
Kjell, who previously held positions at Amaya Gaming and Ongame, is due to join Unibet on 11 January with his appointment announced internally to NYX Gaming staff yesterday afternoon.
In his new role Kjell will hold overall responsibility for Unibet’s online gaming business which now also includes standalone Relax Gaming-powered poker and bingo products.
The appointment follows the promotion of Daniel Eskola from head of gaming to the role of chief product officer in June as part of a reshuffle prompted by COO Britt Boeskov’s requested break.
Eskola led the search for his gaming successor and said he is delighted to have secured the services of Kjell.
“After an extensive search for the head of gaming role, we found an ideal candidate in Fredrik Kjell,” Eskola, told eGR. “His extensive experience will be a great addition to the already strong Unibet product team,” he added.
Kjell was named NYX Gaming’s commercial manager in April after having spent six months as its head of poker, joining the firm as part of NYX Gaming’s acquisition of Ongame from Amaya Gaming in November 2014.
