Former Betit CEO to spearhead GIG’s unified B2C arm
Tomas Backman promoted to CEO of the operator’s new division as it looks to unify its six consumer-facing sites
Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has unified its portfolio of brands under a single B2C umbrella, spearheaded by former Betit Group CEO Tomas Backman.
The move will see the Malta-based operator merge its recently acquired Betit Group sites – Kaboo.com, LuperLenny.com and Thrills.com – with its previously owned Guts.con, Betspin and Rizk.com brands.
Under the new GIG B2C Gaming arm, all brands have migrated on to the company’s proprietary iGaming Cloud platform, as part of its plans to become the “leading iGaming operator in the Nordics”.
The new structure will see individual managers of the six brands report directly into Backman, while the unified organisation is expected to be in place by Q2 2017 at the latest.
“Together we are stronger and I’m confident that it will be an amazing ride the coming years where we will become the leading iGaming operator in the Nordics,” Backman said.
“I will have individual meetings with all the teams in the coming days to talk a bit more about the future and answer potential questions,” he added.
Backman was previously CEO of Betit Group before the operator was acquired by GIG earlier this year in a deal worth €54m. He has also held senior roles at Casumo and Betsson’s NordicBet brand.
