Camelot interactive and subscription sales top £1bn
Strong growth from instant play games - interactive and subscription sales up more than 25%.
Camelot has seen the total amount raised through interactive and subscription sales top £1bn for the first time, the UK National Lottery Operator has revealed in its results for the year ended 31 March 2012.
The 26% increase contributed to overall sales exceeding £6.5bn, an all-time high and up 12.1% on the previous financial year.
Meanwhile total sales of instant play games – including online Instant Win Games – rose 20.1% year-on-year to £1.73bn.
The operator also reached its £750m funding target for this summer’s Olympic Games in London, with MD of Camelot UK Lotteries Limited Andy Duncan saying: “It’s part of…the biggest-ever lottery-funded project to date and one that will leave a lasting sporting legacy for the entire UK.”
It also raised a record £1.83bn for good causes over the course of the year, and Duncan said: “Our business is all about raising as much money as possible for the Good Causes and creating millions of winners “ and this year’s record-breaking figures show we’ve done exactly that.”
