BETCLICK WILL launch sites facing Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, The Netherlands and Romania by the end of October, EGRmagazine.com can reveal exclusively.
A Betclick spokesman said: “Launching in those markets has been planned for some time. It will not mean duplication or overlap of marketing effort as those territories are not the main markets of the operators that form Mangas Gaming. Rather it is part of our strategy of acquiring market share as a group.”
With parent company Mangas Gaming having gained a foothold in the Scandinavian, German and Austrian markets through its acquisition earlier of Expekt and Bet-At-Home this year, the new country launches will augment Mangas’ coverage of central and eastern Europe.
The bookmaker is also about to sign up poker professional Isabelle Mercier, who was previously with PokerStars.
Betclick will not try to take on the major poker operators such as PokerStars, but the company is planning on improving its offering, with a renewed focus on poker in the coming months.
Betclick is strong on betting, but poker has not had as much focus. The signing of Isabelle Mercier means it will be putting in place a strategy to develop and improve its offering as part of its overall project to enhance its poker platform.
