888poker renews golf sponsorship
London-listed operator will attach its poker brand to the PGA EuroPro Tour for a second year
888’s poker brand will remain the headline sponsor of golf’s PGA EuroPro Tour for a second successive year, the operator has announced.
Following the extension, 888poker has pledged to add “new promotions and events”, and senior vice president and head of 888’s B2C divison Itai Pazner said the new integrations “will take the partnership to the next level”.
The tour is a partnership between PGA and Matchroom Sport, and Matchroom chairman Barry Hearn said described 888poker as “an extremely professional, forward thinking and highly successful company who have an established name and brand that is great for the Tour to be linked with”.
EuroPro is seen as a breeding ground for the European Tour, and golfers including Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel have gone on to win majors after competing on the tour.
888poker has bucked the recent decline in poker, continuing to deliver double-digit revenue growth for the operator with the fifth-highest rate of cash game traffic worldwide, according to Pokerscout.
Earlier this year 888 agreed partnerships to supply US operators Treasure Island and Avenue Capital Croup with its online poker software, while another of its US partners, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, remains confident of going live in Nevada this year.
