Digital Chocolate launches real-money slots app
Slots! Pocket UK has gone live on iOS in the UK with Betable providing real-money platform
Games developer Digital Chocolate has launched its first real-money title in the UK on iOS in partnership with service provider Betable.
Slots! Pocket UK features both freeplay and real-money versions of its slots, using Betable’s real-money gaming platform. The app, which is free to download, contains seven slot machines, with more set to be added at a later date.
Betable’s platform, which can be added to freeplay games meaning games developers do not need to apply for an operating licence, is regulated via its UK Gambling Commission licence and the deal with Digital Chocolate was agreed in October last year.
“Real-money play is a major growth opportunity in mobile gaming and we believe by combining social game design with RMG, we will help pioneer a whole new class of mobile gaming,” said Jason Loia, Digital Chocolate COO. “We are excited to have partnered with Betable to enable RMG in SLOTS! Pocket UK and we look forward to growing our lineup of social real-money games,” he added.
In February, Betable struck a similar deal with Canadian games developer Frima’s real-money gaming division 3OAK. Since its launch in July last year, Betable has also signed partnerships with companies including SGN, Slingo and Mandala Games. Big Fish Casino became the first social games developer to launch a real-money offering on the platform in November last year.
