Poll results: Mobile is the future for bingo
Almost half of poll respondents believe mobile will be the major opportunity in the vertical in the years to come
It is the growing prominence of mobile gaming which will provide operators with the biggest opportunity to cash in on bingo over the coming years, eGaming Review readers have said.
This week’s poll asked where the biggest potential for growth in the vertical lies, and almost half (47%) said creating a winning mobile product, as we have seen in other verticals, was the way forward. Unlike sports betting and casino, bingo has yet to find its natural home on mobile and while operators such as Rank Interactive are beginning to make it work, many others are some way behind. Yet as our readers agree, its emergence as an engaging mobile product is inevitable.
A third said it was the possible convergence of real-money and social gaming which would see bingo blossom in the years to come, especially following the launch of the real-money Bingo Friendzy and Bingo Appy games on Facebook last year.
A small number of readers view newly regulated and regulating markets as the biggest opportunity, though. Indeed a number of regulated or regulating territories are beginning to see potential in the vertical, with Canadian province Ontario among the latest to do so, while markets such as Spain possess enough potential to excite bingo operators down the line. The Netherlands could also prove to be a lucrative market for bingo operators, with eGR’s data partner H2 Gambling Capital predicting that the popularity of casino in the market will create opportunities to cross-sell players into the vertical.
