Weather Lottery rebrands as Boxhill Technologies
Group brings assets under one brand and outlines plans to acquire new products post-Devilfish Poker
The Weather Lottery has changed its name to Boxhill Technologies as part of a company rebrand following a year of change at the Group.
The lottery operator acquired payment suppliers Poseve and Sormelle earlier this year in a move which expanded its existing portfolio of payment solution businesses, which includes Pay Corporation.
The AIM-quoted company’s gaming and payments software division provides online payment systems to egaming operators such as Ladbrokes, while also operating a consumer-facing business which incorporates the prepaid PayCorp Visa card.
The Group confirmed that further complementary products are currently in production as part of plans to deliver and acquire new products and businesses, particularly focusing on lotteries and payment processing.
The rebrand comes in the same week as the company disposed of its unsuccessful Devilfish Poker product, acquired in December 2010, for a nominal fee of £1.
Former Weather Lottery gambling subsidiary managing director Jeff Williams assumed responsibility for the product, terminating his consultancy agreement with the group in the process. Devilfish has failed to turn a profit in the three years since its acquisition.
The group’s flagship lottery product The Weather Lottery has been operating since 1998 and announced this week that it had donated in excess of £5m to charities and good causes.
