Poll: Who should top the 2014 eGR Power 50?

With assessment currently underway for this year’s Power 50 list of the most powerful operators in online gambling, there is a great deal of debate over who will top the list in 2014.

Last year saw bet365 claim the top spot for an amazing fourth year in a row despite a strong challenge from William Hill, but this year the competition is hotter than ever.

Amaya’s $4.9bn takeover of PokerStars owner Rational Group catapulted them into the elite group of egaming power players.

The firm is already planning to launch an expanding gaming offering with a PokerStars casino and Full Tilt sportsbook on the cards and a New Jersey licence expected any week now.

Last year’s second placed firm, William Hill Online, has had a quieter but no less impressive year with sustained growth and continued international expansion.

Its recent results showed a 12% increase in online revenue despite a tough set of sports betting results and its gaming business looks in particularly rude health.

And there are also a host of other operators snapping at the heels of bet365 including an increasingly internationally-focused Paddy Power, a revitalised Betfair and a consistently impressive 888.

But against this backdrop we can’t forget that bet365 appears stronger than ever with its recent results showing profits booming and a new Italian launch showing it still has big growth plans.

So who should top the list in 2014? Is it bet365’s time once again or should Amaya, William Hill or even the likes of Paddy Power or 888 take the crown?
