Philip Bowcock to succeed the departing Neil Cooper who leaves William Hill in November for Barratt Developments
William Hill this afternoon announced former Cineworld chief financial officer (CFO) Philip Bowcock will replace Neil Cooper as the operator’s new group chief financial officer.
Bowcock will join William Hill on 1 November and his appointment brings to an end a two-month search for Cooper’s successor after in June revealing plans to join residential property development company Barratt Developments.
“We are delighted to welcome Philip, whose extensive experience will be valuable as we continue to diversify and grow the business,” James Henderson, William Hill CEO, said.
“Philip has played a lead role in strategic and financial changes at his previous companies and will bring both a strong strategic insight and rigorous financial acumen,” he added.
Bowcock, who will earn an annual salary of £420,000 and be eligible for an annual bonus of up to 150% of his basic salary, joins the UK operator after nearly five years as CFO of cinema chain Cineworld.
Prior to Cineworld, Bowcock worked as finance director at nightclub chain Luminar Group Holdings, which was put into administration in October 2011 and sold to a private company in December 2011.
He previously held senior financial roles at Barratt Developments, Tesco and the Hilton Group.
“This is an exciting time to be joining William Hill with its strong digital and international strategies,” Bowcock said. “I’m looking forward to working with James and the team, and contributing to William Hill’s continued success,” he continued.
