Fredrik Kjell appointed Unibet’s new head of gaming
Former director of product at Amaya joins Unibet to replace the recently promoted Daniel Eskola
Unibet has hired former NYX Gaming commercial manager and head of poker Fredrik Kjell as its new head of gaming.
Kjell, who previously held positions at Amaya Gaming and Ongame, is due to join Unibet on 11 January with his appointment announced internally to NYX Gaming staff on Tuesday.
In his new role Kjell will hold overall responsibility for Unibet’s online gaming business which now also includes standalone Relax Gaming-powered poker and bingo products.
The appointment follows the promotion of Daniel Eskola from head of gaming to the role of chief product officer in June as part of a reshuffle prompted by COO Britt Boeskov’s requested break.
Ladbrokes CFO to depart as merger nears completion
Ladbrokes yesterday announced CFO Ian Bull will leave the company in February as its proposed merger with Gala Coral nears completion.
When Ladbrokes and Gala Coral announced their intention to merge in July, it was agreed that Coral’s CFO Paul Bowtell would become finance director for the combined business.
And the news Bull will depart at the end of February, shortly after Ladbrokes’ full year results are announced, suggests the firm is now confident the merger will proceed, despite concerns that it may be held up by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Betgenius appoints new global sales director
Egaming software supplier Betgenius has announced the appointment of Mike Strong as its new global sales director.
Strong joins the company from Opta where he worked as sales director for four years.
“I’m delighted to welcome Mike to Betgenius and excited about the contribution he will make to the business,” Mark Locke, chief executive officer of Betgenius, said.
“He brings with him a great depth of knowledge and a wealth of experience in sports data and gaming,” Locke added.
Tabcorp head of digital marketing departs
Tabcorp’s head of digital marketing Damon Robbins has left after more than seven years at the Australian operator.
Robbins left the Melbourne-headquartered firm earlier this month and Tabcorp has begun a hunt for a replacement and a new head of marketing communications.
Speaking with eGR DM, Robbins praised the work of his previous employer and said he was looking for a marketing role outside of the gambling industry.
