Ladbrokes Australia names new CMO
Simon Jarvis succeeds James Burnett who has left after nearly three years at the Brisbane-based operator
Ladbrokes Australia has appointed Simon Jarvis as its new chief marketing officer following the departure of the operator’s long-serving CMO James Burnett, eGaming Review has learned.
Jarvis, who took up the Brisbane-based role last month, was most recently general manager of marketing at Australis College and has also previously worked in marketing roles at a number of other Australian educational companies.
Burnett recently left after nearly three years at the firm, during which time he helped launch the Ladbrokes brand in the market following its acquisition of Gaming Investments in September 2013.
“James has been an integral part of building Ladbrokes Australia, seeing it through launch to be the third most-recognised wagering brand in Australia in just over two years,” Dean Shannon, Ladbrokes Australia CEO, told EGR.
Burnett previously worked at rival bookmaker Tabcorp as national marketing and sponsorship manager and was also sales and marketing leader at media giant Fairfax Media.
