SeanieMac shuts down after leaving BoyleSports platform
Operator closes site for four months to migrate to new platform, signs British Racing ABP deal
Irish operator SeanieMac has called a halt to operations after coming off BoyleSports’ B2B platform ahead of a planned August relaunch.
SeanieMac closed its site on 1 April and has since been directing customers to Apollobet, a brand the operator acquired last month and one which also sits on the BoyleSports platform.
Last month the firm said the combination of the two brands had created an 110,000-strong customer database sat on a single platform, although EGR understands the intention at that time was for SeanieMac to remain on the BoyleSports’ technology.
News of the shut-down comes as the ink dries on a deal which has seen both SeanieMac and Apollobet become Authorised Betting Partners (ABP) of British Racing.
The firm said the deal would enable its branding to be seen by more than six million racing fans, spearheaded by a subsequent deal with the Jockey Club to sponsor 40 full racing meetings over the coming months.
“After two years since launching our first betting website, we a have set 2016 to achieve some major milestones in launching a new platform, securing key sponsorships and aggressively growing our business,” Shane O’Driscoll, SeanieMac CEO and founder, said.
“As soon as we file our audited financials for 2015, we will be providing updates and projections for 2016. We think it will be a truly ground-breaking year for us,” he added.
The firm also said it had enjoyed a successful Cheltenham Festival with revenues for the week, which came ahead of the Apollobet acquisition, totalling ?425,000.
