Betclic Everest to close Everest Poker brand
Operator plans to migrate France-based players to its Betclic.fr poker product
Betclic Everest Group has announced plans to shut down the firm’s France-facing Everest Poker site as the operator looks to focus on building its Betclic brand.
EverestPoker.fr is set to close its doors to players on 31 May with plans for its Paris-headquartered parent company to begin migrating players to Betclic.fr from 28 April.
The operator announced the merger to players yesterday, and in a Facebook message said the decision was influenced by the ability to provide players with a multi-vertical experience on Betclic.fr.
“There was no logic to maintain two poker deals in the French market,” Betclic Everest Group CEO, Isabella Andres, said in a statement.
“We keep all our ambition and are confident that our poker customers will benefit from a quality poker offering and enhanced experience on Betclic with access to sports betting and horseracing betting,” she added.
Any players who have not migrated to EverestPoker.fr, which is on the same poker platform as the Betclic brand, will see their accounts closed and refunded by early October 2016.
