Betsson hires former Coral exec as trading director
Nick Maurice to head-up trading across all Betsson sportsbook brands following departure of Steve Ellis
Betsson Group has appointed former Coral Interactive executive Nick Maurice as its new trading director following the departure of Steve Ellis, eGaming Review has learned.
Maurice, who started in the role last week, will be responsible for all trading strategy across the group’s portfolio of sportsbook brands including Betsson, Nordicbet and Betsafe.
When contacted by EGR, Betsson chief executive Ulrik Bengtsson confirmed the hire of Maurice and said he was “happy to have Nick on board”.
“He [Maurice] has an exciting background and we look forward to see how he can lift our trading operation,” Bengtsson added.
Gaming Innovation Group in senior management shake-up
Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has made a trio of changes to its senior management team, including the hire of Mobenga CEO and chairman Mikael ??ngman as its new chief operating officer.
??ngman will join GIG on 1 September while the firm has also promoted Katja Laaksonen from her current role as chief marketing officer at Guts.com to managing director of the brand.
GIG chief executive Robin Reed, who until today acted as MD for the Guts.com brand, will now focus solely on his position as CEO.

Genting UK restructures business to boost multichannel offering
Genting UK President Paul Willcock has announced a restructuring of the business as part of the company’s strategy to develop an improved multi-channel offering.
Mark Sergeant, the former managing director of Gala Casinos, has been appointed as managing director of the provincial casino estate, with responsibility for the online business – Genting Alderney – as well.
As part of the reshuffle, Peter Nolan, the current managing director of Genting Alderney, has left the business with immediate effect.
FSB Tech appoints new operations director
FSB Technology has appointed Garry Pattenden as its new operations director, in charge of product delivery for the firm’s sportsbook licensees.
Pattenden, who previously worked as the commercial director of mobile technology company Safari Mobile, will oversee compliance, customer support, payments, supplier contracts, account management and platform hosting.
