Portugal's Solverde partners NYX for online gaming launch
Land-based operator to expand its presence to the country's online gambling market for the first time
Portuguese land-based casino operator Solverde is to expand its presence into the country’s online gambling space in partnership with supplier giant NYX Gaming Group.
The deal sees the two companies sign a memorandum of understanding, with Solverde set to integrate into NYX’s Open Platform System (OPS) as part of the agreement.
The Portuguese casino will also launch slots and scratchcard titles from NYX’s NextGen subsidiary and be one of the first operators to launch the supplier’s NYX BI business intelligence solution.
“We are thrilled to be the chosen partner of Solverde as they expand into the online space,” NYX’s SVP of business development, David Flynn, said.
“Through our OPS, they will be working with one of the world’s most flexible gaming platforms and able to deliver players in Portugal a responsive, omni-channel experience that is custom to the Solverde brand.”
Solverde currently has five physical casinos in Portugal, making it one of the largest land-based casino companies in the country.
“Solverde has chosen, after a thorough market consultation identifying the main players of the sector, NYX Gaming Group for their demonstrated capacity, quality of service presented and, above all, the client portfolio it already holds,” said Americo Loureiro, director at Solverde.
The launch of Solverde online comes after the Portuguese government announced plans to issue online gambling licences which recently led to Betclic-Everest Group launching an online sportsbook in the country.
The Paris-headquartered firm launched in Portugal on 25 May under its flagship Betclic brand having officially obtained its fixed-odds sports betting licence earlier that morning.
