A House Financial Services Committee hearing on Barney Frank‘s proposals to license and regulate egaming in the US will take place at 2pm Eastern Time today. No markup of HR 2267, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, will take place today. Poker Players Alliance executive director John Pappas is reported by PokerNews as saying he expects this to follow next week. Poker player Annie Duke will be among those speaking in favour, while those opposing HR 2267 will include Tom Malkasian, vice chairman and director of strategic planning for the Commerce Casino in California, currently embroiled in the battle over the form intrastate gaming in that state should take, via its coalition with the Morongo Tribe.
