UK FREE NEWSPAPER Metro is to launch a mobile sportsbook with BlueSquare and mobile betting software company Mkodo.
MEbet Mobile is a branded mobile site in line with Metro‘s online service, and will be promoted via the Metro brand’s other Metro Mobile interactivity in print, online and via SMS calls-to-action. Metro, which is published by Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers, targets public transport users in 14 UK cities including Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester.
Mkodo, which provides mobile betting and gaming solutions to leading operators such as Blue Square and SkyBet, is utilising Blue Square’s sportsbook for Metro‘s mobile betting.
Mkodo business development manager Mark Gibson said: “This mobile sportsbook complements Metro‘s other mobile products and we expect this to be very popular with readers.”
As reported on EGRmagazine.com, in July Metro also began hosting a social gaming platform for the 400,000 players of Sportech’s New Football Pools prediction games on its website, as did the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail newspapers.
