Betfair expands mobile offering
Betting exchange adds Ante Post markets and US racing.
Betfair has expanded its mobile offering with the addition of ante post markets and US racing, according to a Twitter announcement from the betting exchange.
It is the latest development from the operator’s mobile team under the stewardship of Raj Velmulapalli, the former Yahoo VP of mobile engineering who replaced Charlie Palmer in May.
Mobile has been a significant growth area for Betfair over the last year, with last month’s Q2 interim management statement revealing 88% year-on-year growth in mobile revenues. This growth was emphasised as the Gibraltar-based operator was named mobile operator of the year in November’s eGaming Review Operator Awards.
The company claims to have been the first major egaming operator to launch a real-money gambling app in Apple’s app store in May 2010.
