Caesars announces 2012 WSOP schedule
'November Nine' will not return this year.
Caesars Entertainment has announced that this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event will not feature the ‘November Nine’ system for the final table.
Last year was the fourth time that the final nine players returned after a four-month hiatus, but it has been suggested by numerous sources that the progress of live-streaming negates the need for the delay.
The final table was streamed in near-real-time last November, following similar activity from PokerStars for the European Poker Tour Grand Final.
This year’s World Series will run from 27 May to 16 July, with the Main Event – won last year by Pius Heinz (pictured) – beginning on 7 July.
The news follows Caesars’ online arm Caesars Interactive Entertainment extending its existing poker deals with Dragonfish and Barrière for new markets.
