Gala Coral appoints new creative agency
DLKW Lowe believed to have beaten off competition from M&C Saatchi and Newhaven.
London-based DLKW Lowe has edged out competitors including M&C Saatchi to be appointed as Gala Coral’s new creative agency.
According to advertising and marketing publication The Drum, the appointment is set to bring about the launch of a new brand campaign before the end of the summer. DLKW Lowe, which already works with clients including The Health Lottery and theme parks such as Alton Towers and Legoland, is understood to have emerged from a three-strong shortlist which also included Newhaven.
The company also works with newspaper The Daily Mirror, which recently partnered with Gala Coral around the European Football Championships.
MD of Coral Andy Hornby (pictured), who was appointed to the role in July last year, previously worked with the agency during his role as HBOS chief executive.
Gala Coral upped its online focus with a landmark 10-year supply deal with Playtech last year, which has seen the operator’s Gala Casino Poker brand move to the software provider’s iPoker network.
Last month it arrived at a conditional agreement to sell the bulk of its land-based casino estate to Rank Group for a sum of £205m.
Meanwhile, Gala Casinos has agreed a one-year deal to sponsor the backs of shirts for English football club Northampton Town. The club’s commercial manager Andy Wooldridge said: “For Gala Casinos to choose to have their name on our shirts is a huge endorsement of our work and of our ever growing reputation of the service that we provide for sponsors and partners.”
